About us

The Craft Cwtch was established in 2014 when I retired from Local Government and pursued a dream of setting up my own business based on my hobby of knitting and crochet.

Starting out small with one room in my home used for storage and meeting visiting customers, it soon became clear that there was a local need for a specialist yarn store to deliver high quality products to satisfy demand.

The business grew over the next few years and a warm hub was also created to provide facilities for training classes and social groups.

In September 2023 the Indoor Market was temporarily closed on Health & Safety grounds when the presence of RACC concrete was deemed unsafe.

The business has been quickly relocated to a vacant unit in the nearby Rhiw Shopping Centre and provides a larger space which we also share with an Artisan Crafts business

Customers are welcome to browse a wide selection of yarns, patterns and buttons, and knowledgeable advice is on hand if needed.

We hope you can find everything you need. The Craft Cwtch is focused on providing high-quality service and customer satisfaction - we will do everything we can to meet your expectations.

Visitors to the shop are most welcome, the shop is in The Rhiw Shopping Centre (Unit 22) off Nolton Street in Bridgend.

We also offer a range of courses at very reasonable rates on weekdays that range from absolute beginners, through to improvers and beyond. These are delivered in the Warm Hub space in the shop by a friendly and knowledgeable colleague, and they provide a great way to learn or develop new skills, achieve an ambition to create your own garments or simply to socialise and make new friends.
